Today to eat I wanted to pay tribute to broccoli and eat it differently than usual: cooked and sauteed or with a dash of olive oil. And I have put it at the same height as some beef steaks first. The whole seasoned with Asian touches has been a sauteed beef and broccoli.
Of the Asian food I would emphasize mainly its simplicity in the elaboration, mainly the sauteed ones, there are much more complicated things to elaborate. In addition, in my modest opinion in this type of food the vegetable is eaten at its right point of cooking. A defect that people throw back is the taste of spices, which can be corrected by lowering the amounts.
Ingredients for 4 people
- 300 gr of beef fillets, 2 cloves of garlic, a teaspoon of cayenne powder, 1 teaspoon of ginger, 1/2 star of crushed anise, a dash of soy sauce, olive oil, 200 gr of broccoli, 150 ml of vegetable stock, a little carrot, a spoonful of cornstarch, a little water and salt.
Preparation of sautéed veal
First we macerate the meat. Put the crushed garlic, cayenne, ginger, anise, a dash of soy sauce and a drizzle of olive oil in a bowl. Cut the meat into strips, season and marinate for about half an hour.
On the other hand, sauté the broccoli for about 5 minutes with a little olive oil. We withdraw
Sauté the meat in the same pan and sauté until it becomes colored. Add the broccoli, a little more soy sauce and vegetable stock, the cornstarch dissolved in a little water and let it cook until it thickens.
