Nesquik sponge cake. Recipe

As in the famous soft drinks, the well-known cocoa creams and in this case the soluble chocolate ones for the milk, there are some faithful followers of one or another brand, in this case I stay with my favorite to elaborate this rich Nesquik sponge cake. An easy cake to prepare and with a very pronounced chocolate flavor that will delight children and why not say it also for the elderly.

If you are “of the other brand” nothing happens, you can also elaborate with it, only that maybe the color changes a little and it is not so dark, but surely it will also be very rich. How a small cake comes out I advise you to look for a round mold not exceeding twenty centimeters in diameter or an elongated one as in my case, not very large. If you are many at home you can double the ingredients so that it comes out larger.

Ingredients for a rectangular mold of twenty three centimeters

  • 150 grams of pastry flour, 120 grams of butter, 1 sachet of chemical yeast, 120 grams of sugar, 8 tablespoons of Nesquik, 3 eggs L at room temperature, 1 tablespoon of flour or cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of butter to grease the mold, 1 pinch of salt.

How to make Nesquik sponge cake

We will begin preheating the oven with heat up and down to 190 degrees. We prepare our mold by greasing it with a little butter and sprinkling the spoonful of flour or cocoa if we want the cake to become dark, shaking off the excess. In a small pot over the fire or in the microwave, melt the butter slowly and let it temper.

Then we separate the whites from the yolks and beat in a bowl, with some rods or a mixer with the mounting accessory, clear with a pinch of salt until firm. On the other hand, we beat the yolks with the sugar until we see them that have bleached, gradually add the melted butter, integrating it into the mixture.

Later we add the Nesquik, the flour and the yeast. Mix just enough to incorporate and add the egg whites until stiff, integrating them carefully, pour the mixture into the mold. Bake for forty minutes or until it sticks clean with a toothpick. We leave it for five minutes and pass it to a rack so that it has just cooled.
